i’ll never understand why people write descriptions under their pictures
we arent blind…
I wasn’t meaning to make you feel bad :-( it’s just that a lot of people don’t realize how common visual disability is. My mom, for example, uses screen-reading software about half the time. I myself can often read text but not tell what a picture is. I have severe astigmatism oriented vertically, so I can disambiguate most regular sized words even without my glasses, but I often can’t read smaller print and I frequently can’t tell what some images are. So — even though I’m really bad at remembering to do it myself — I love it when people remember to caption images. Especially ones that have been vastly reduced in size, or that are very complicated visually. It really does help! :-)
So once more I didn’t want to make anyone feel bad or guilty, I just wanted to speak up as proof that we do exist and we are more prevalent than you might believe :-)
